A day in the life…

Kids don’t have a lot of control in their lives and a structured environment can give them a sense of organization, stability and comfort. That, in turn, should help develop better behavior and some sense of personal control – always a challenge, especially with young kids. Step Ahead Kindergarten and Preschool helps its students transition into a structured academic environment through specialized programs that establish positive habits and understanding of essential concepts.

Below is an example of the types of scheduled activities:

    • Morning Meeting which includes the day’s introduction of new materials (language arts, science and poetry), calendar, weather, and current events
    • Arts & Crafts
    • Reading
    • Social Studies
    • Numbers and Math
    • Indoor or Outdoor Recess
    • Quiet Free Play or Rest Time
    • Team Games
    • Story Stretcher Time
    • Dance and Songs
    • Homework Time
